TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono considered the option for private sectors to implement a work-from-home (WFH) policy during ASEAN Summit. The purpose is to avoid traffic congestion.
“Private bodies can start considering the option for WFH depending on their own policy,” he said in a virtual discussion Forum Merdeka Barat 9, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
ASEAN Summit will be held on September 5-7, 2023. The provincial government of Jakarta is currently conducting a series of preparations ahead of the ASEAN Summit. The preparations are road, sidewalks, and cable optics maintenance and traffic management.X
Acting Governor Heru Budi ensured no special budget was allocated for the preparation of the ASEAN Summit.
Heru also invited the public to enliven ASEAN Summit by installing flags and banners related to the event to decorate office complexes.
Previously, Heru revealed his plan to implement WFH during ASEAN Summit. At the end of May, he said that further discussion is needed to prepare for the traffic possibility during the event.
“It is possible for September 5 to 7 we implement work-from-home,” he said in Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, as quoted by Antara.
