BRI is concerned with continuous education and adapting to developments in issues.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Effective communication is one of the benchmarks for a company’s success in campaigning for its vision and mission. This time, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) (BRI) Tbk again won an international award in the field of communications, being named Best ‘Government Public Relations in Indonesia’ at the 4th ASEAN PR Excellence Awards 2023 which was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam , on September 8, 2023.
Regarding the award he received, Deputy Main Director of BRI Catur Budi Harto said that his party appreciated the award given to BRI. “Thank you for the title given to us. “This is an encouragement for us to continue carrying out public relations activities, especially in order to provide the best service to customers and the Indonesian people,” he said, in a press release.
So far, BRI has carried out various communication campaigns regarding the success of the transformation carried out by the company consistently. Not only that, BRI is also concerned with sustainable education and adapting to developments in issues. As is the case with various modes of banking crime fraud which cause a lot of harm to the public.
BRI continues to educate its customers to increase their awareness and avoid all types of banking fraud/crime methods. As a form of effort to combat social engineering (soceng), BRI routinely provides tips and anticipatory steps to deal with it.
This is part of BRI’s goal of continuing to strive not only to deliver economic value, but also social value to society. According to him, BRI will continue to build effective, open and relevant communication patterns and spread them across various communication channels.
According to him, good communication must be brave and measurable. There are three things that are pillars in communicating to the public. First, there must be ‘clear rules’ that underlie a communication issue and ensure that it ‘does not violate the rules’. Second, presenting accurate data and facts, not just normative narratives that do not answer the problem. Third, build a narrative that is honest and provides benefits and is useful for society.
Catur revealed that in the midst of the post-pandemic economic revival, BRI also continues to share positive enthusiasm through narratives that build optimism and positive journalism. So that the communication that is built is able to encourage the public, especially business people, to be optimistic about building their business and continuing to grow.
For example, BRI shares various inspirations through inspiring stories with attractive packaging, such as the success of BRI’s fostered customers, various innovative MSME empowerment programs, and education on safe transactions to the public. Apart from that, BRI also communicates through ‘role modeling’ or by giving examples of various parties through various programs that provide benefits to the wider community, for example in implementing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) through the BRI Menanam program.
“In the future, BRI will continue to communicate by spreading positive narratives that build optimism and provide benefits, not only regarding economic value aspects, but also in terms of social value,” he said.
