Thailand Investors Roundtable at Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi
Mr. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India chaired the Thailand Investors Roundtable. Invest India had a dedicated session to showcase the growth and opportunities in India, and the future of Thai investors. Discussions included topics like taxation, incorporation, state assessment, policy highlights, and aftercare areas of collaboration between both countries. The roundtable was attended by Consul Generals from across India, and officials from the Thailand Board of Investment in Mumbai, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Thai private sectors.
Meeting with High Commissioner of Brunei, New Delhi
Invest India and FICCI representatives met the High Commissioner of Brunei to India, who is also the chair of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC), to discuss the upcoming World Food India event. This is being planned as one of the biggest-ever congregations of senior government dignitaries, global investors, and business leaders of major global and domestic food companies and all relevant stakeholders. The team extended the proposition to the ASEAN countries to participate as a partner/focus region in the upcoming mega event.
Panel Discussion: Digital Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure for Enabling Economic Growth
The Indian Mission to ASEAN and the Embassy of India, Jakarta in association with KADIN and Invest India organised a panel discussion on Digital Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure to enable economic growth and foster multilateral growth between India and the ASEAN. The event was a key side event of the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) taking place in Jakarta, which will bring together 900+ government and industry leaders from 18+ countries. One of the four key themes of the AIPF 2023 is to foster inclusive digital transformation.
The event was inaugurated by the Indian Ambassador to ASEAN, Mr. Jayant N. Khobragade, and the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty both of whom delivered the opening remarks and special address respectively. The esteemed panel included Mr. Hazremi Hamid, Senior Officer for Digital Economy, ASEAN Secretariat, Mr. Debabrata Nayak, Chief Technology Officer, Digital India Corporation, Mr. Gurjit Singh, Former Ambassador of India to Germany, Indonesia, Ethiopia, ASEAN and the African Union, Mr. Bapak Setiaji, Chief Digital Transformation Office of Ministry of Health, Government of Indonesia and Mr. Rohit Sethi, Senior Principal, Kearney. The session was moderated by Ms. Sai Sudha Chandrasekaran, Vice President and APAC Head, of Invest India. Ms. Sunaina Khanna, Assistant Vice President, Invest India presented the New India Opportunity along with India’s digital journey and transformation to set the context.
BANPU Next-SECI-Invest India (Thailand)
The Invest India team discussed the market entry strategy for BANPU Next, a leading energy provider from Thailand. The company gave a presentation on its global operations across solar, energy storage, mobility, and energy trading. The meeting involved Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Invest India providing various pathways for BANPU Next to compete in the Indian energy market and setting up an Indian office.
